    This position is located at Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC.

     

    Fort Bragg is 2 hours from the beach and 5 hours from the Appalachian Mountains with easy access to I-95 and all points north and south.     Responsibilities

    You will perform duties such as:

    • Examine patients and determine the need for and orders laboratory tests, X-rays, physician consultation and other procedures necessary to complete assessment of the patient.
    • Discriminate between normal and abnormal findings in the history, physical exam, laboratory and radiology results.
    • Perform initial patient work-up by securing a health and medical history from the patient or family members and records findings.
    • Make clinical decisions and diagnoses disease, illness or injury and works collaboratively with the physician in providing patient care, management and revision of therapeutic plans.
    • Provide a full range of emergency services or crises interventions in the absence of the physician, including life-saving emergency procedures in order to stabilize a patient within the scope of practice and approved protocols.

    Qualifications

    US Citizenship Required

     

    At least one year of experience as a certified physician assistant treating patients in a Family Practice setting.

     

    Graduation from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARCPA), or its predecessors, at a college, university, or educational institution that is accredited by an accrediting body or organization recognized by the Secretary, U.S. Department of Education.

     

    Successful completion of the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) examination; must maintain status as a certified physician assistant, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education (CME) and re-certification.

     

      

    All Applicants must be licensed as a Physician Assistant by the recognized licensing agency of a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
