    As a Supervisory Clinical Psychologist at Fort Polk, LA, you will:

    • Establish standard operating procedures for an outpatient behavioral health clinic in order to meet the needs of patients.
    • Evaluate subordinate behavioral health staff’s work in order to recommend developmental and/or disciplinary measures.
    • Utilize treatment modalities such as group, individual psychotherapy, family therapy, pharmacotherapy, and/or community counseling in order to provide the best patient care.
    • Provide consultation to staff regarding policies, work methods, practices and problem solving to ensure efficient operation of the clinic.


    Degree: Successful completion of a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology.

    Experience required:  Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: providing psychological counseling, assessing patients to determine an appropriate diagnosis, and consulting others on behavioral health services.
    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for
    experience is permitted.

    Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.
