    This position is for a Licensed Psychologist position at Munson Army Health Center.

     

    Employee works under the immediate supervision of the Chief of Behavioral Health (BH) for Munson Army Health Center (MAHC). Employee independently plans and carries out assigned duties in accordance with general psychological theories, techniques and professional practice standards; has full professional responsibility for psychological findings, interpretations, recommendations and reports. Evaluation of performance is based on validity of diagnosis, soundness and practicality of treatment plan, timeliness of response to requests for consultation and adherence to quality assurance guidelines for patient management. Work will conform to the US Army, Joint Commission and Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) standards, as well as to the ethical principles of the American Psychological Association, the standards for practice of clinical psychology and state licensure requirements.

    CHILD CARE BACKGROUND CHECK IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION IN ACCORDANCE WITH DODI 1402.5€ ENCLOSURE 5, MEMORANDUM DATED MARCH 6,1992 SUBJECT “CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGRUND CHECKS ON EMPLOYEES ON CHILD CARE SERVICES”. EMPLOYEES ON THIS POSITION ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN A SUCCESSFUL BACKROUGND CHECK.

    Responsibilities

    Screen and interview patients to assess psychological disorders typically affecting children and adolescents.
    Independently select, administer, score, and interpret psychological tests for the purpose of assessing patients' cognitive, behavioral, educational, and emotional functioning.
    Diagnose behavioral health conditions in accordance with DSM-V criteria or other more current accepted standards.
    Provide individual and group therapy using various evidence based/informed modalities as clinically indicated.
    Consult professional primary care providers regarding the psychological functioning, evidence based practices, and screening of children, adolescents, and families. 

     

    Qualifications

    US Citizenship

    Preferred candidates will have completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral graduate program and an APA accredited predoctoral internship.
