This position is located at McDonald Army Health Center, at Fort Eustis, VA.

Responsibilities

As a Nurse (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Anesthetist), you will:

  • Provide anesthesia and related services in accordance with Army and hospital regulatory, licensing and credentialing policies, and with American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Guidelines for Nurse Anesthesia Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • Conduct and participate in educational programs that improve anesthesia nursing practice.
  • Assume full responsibility for all techniques, drugs, and equipment used in the administration of anesthesia.
  • Monitor patients' fluid loss; determine need for parenteral fluids, including plasma and blood, set up solutions and maintain proper flow.
  • Directly supervise and monitor the quality of anesthesia care administered by the student nurse anesthetists; assists the Chief, Anesthesia Section, in monitoring and evaluating anesthesia care provided by reserve nurse anesthetists.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

 

At least one year of clinical experience AFTER finishing CRNA program

 

Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
