Tripler Army Medical Center is seeking Emergency RNs to join our growing team!

Also known as the “big pink building on the hill”, Tripler is a 450 bed, Level II Trauma facility and participates in unique partnerships with civilian facilities to provide care to non-beneficiary trauma victims.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and treatment to a variety of patients, from newborn to geriatric, arriving with conditions ranging from minor to emergent.
  • Assist physicians in the performance of specialized procedures including, but not limited to, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, insertion of chest drainage tubes, tracheotomies, emergency thoracotomies, gastric lavage, and suturing lacerations.
  • Operate specialized medical equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, electrocardiographs, oxygen apparatus, intravenous pumps, rapid intravenous infusers, and infant servo-warmer.
  • Change dressings, prep wounds, remove sutures, insert catheters, apply splints and dressings, and collect urine, stool, sputum, genital, and blood specimens.
  • Arrange transfer of patients to appropriate inpatient care areas and higher levels of care as well as coordinate patient referrals to ancillary healthcare services including, but not limited to, Community Health, Dietary, and Social Work.
  • Follow quality improvement and internal control activities for the ambulatory setting to include risk appraisals, chart audits, trend identification and reporting corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Must be a United States Citizen

 

Must possess a valid Registered Nurse License that has not elapsed/expired.

 

Must have an Associates, Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Nursing. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
