Responsibilities

As an Operating Room Nurse you will:

  • Provide specialized perioperative care to patients undergoing procedures to include highly complex, high acuity surgeries.
  • Assess patient's physiological, psychosocial status to formulate a data base (nursing care plan) to include preparing goals based upon nursing diagnosis and develop patient outcomes.
  • Manage care of patients for a wide range of procedures of an advanced nature and difficulty, where there is high susceptibility to infection and bodily functions are mechanically assisted by life support equipment.
  • Make independent perioperative nursing judgments and appropriate revisions in the care plan based on moment-to-moment changes in the patient's condition and responses.
  • Serve as unit coordinator for selected committees such as Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Inservice, etc.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

 

 A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

 

A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; and you must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination.epared you to do the work in this job.
