POSITION DUTIES: | |
Performs duties as an Industrial Hygienist, Preventive Medicine Service, TAMC, responsible for conducting complete evaluations of work operations within US Army Pacific and subordinate units, US Army Garrison Hawaii, and TAMC involving potentially hazardous environmental condi-tions, analyzing findings, and recommending corrective measures and controls. Evaluations may include hazards resulting from: inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption of chemicals; heat and pressure extremes; ionizing and non-ionizing radiation; noise and vibration; and ergonomics. Meets and deals with workers, supervisors, managers, commanders, and health and health-related professionals in the accomplishment of assignments. Prepares written technical reports of survey findings, recommendations, and corrective actions required. Assists with coordination of subject results and recommendations with organizational operating officials, supervisors, managers, medical personnel, safety personnel, and others involved with the environmental aspects of the organization surveyed. |

Conditions of Employment
1. Position requires a pre-placement medical examination and annual physical thereafter.
2. Must possess and maintain a valid State Driver’s License.
3. Incumbent must be able to possess or obtain and maintain Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Reporting System (DOEHRS-IH) Certification within six months of hire date.
4. Must be able to travel away from the duty station 10% of the time annually.
5. Position may require employee to work at USAHC-Schofield Barracks and Tripler Army Medical Center clinics based on mission needs.
6. Position requires immunization screening.
7. This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
