This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Moore, GA.  

 

 

Fort Moore is in the "Tri-Community" comprised of Columbus, Georgia; Fort Moore, Georgia; and Phoenix City, Alabama. Columbus (third-largest city in Georgia) is a growing community of 250,000. Besides being the home of the Best Army Installation in the World, Columbus houses the corporate headquarters of many leading companies. The stunning Florida gulf shores and Blue Ridge Mountains are only a few hours' drive. 

 

Responsibilities

As an Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Midwife) you will:

 

  • Provides independent preventive, therapeutic, and comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care
  • Collaborates with physicians regarding patient management, to include evaluating and revising therapeutic plans and managing high-risk, unstable, or extremely complex patients, including the intrapartum setting within scope of practice.
  • Serves as project lead or associate in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of obstetrics/gynecology healthcare.
  • Perform and/or request laboratory, radiologic and other diagnostic and screening tests.
  • Independently manages labor and childbirth in accordance with clinical privileges.
  • Oversees compliance/adherence with the preventive health care needs of all patients visiting the obstetrics/gynecology clinic.
  • Provides teaching to patients and their families regarding disease processes and diagnostic tests.
  • Provides teaching and oversight to family practice residents, PA and NP students.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

 

A graduate or higher level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program in Midwifery is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

 

A current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse in the specialty of Midwifery or related specialty from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
