This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA.  

Fort Benning is in the "Tri-Community" comprised of Columbus, Georgia; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Phoenix City, Alabama. Columbus (third-largest city in Georgia) is a growing community of 250,000. Besides being the home of the Best Army Installation in the World, Columbus houses the corporate headquarters of many leading companies. The stunning Florida gulf shores and Blue Ridge Mountains are only a few hours' drive.

Duties

• Prepare tissue specimens from any part of the body for diagnostic examination by the pathologist.
• Assist the pathologist while cutting specimens and preparing tissue for microscopic examination.
• Execute protocols for validation of new immunohistochemical tests.
• Assist with rapid on-site evaluations in preparing appropriate reagents and materials.
• Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to enter or retrieve data.

Who May Apply: Must be a US Citizen.

Candidates must have one year of experience that includes demonstrated/documented work in staining, embedding of tissue specimens; microtomy of tissue; performing special stains; and preparing sample slides.

Candiates may substitue experience if they have one full year of graduate education in Histotechnology, Human Anatomy, Biomedical Science or other field directly related to this position (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.).
