Responsibilities

As a Physician (Obsterics/Gynecology) you will:

 

Serves as an expert and consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology with emphasis on ambulatorycare. Is responsible for examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the full range of OB/GYN patients.Incumbent should have expertise in both abdominal and trans-vaginal ultrasonography as pertainsto ambulatory medicine. Incumbent must be able to utilize and perform screening and diagnosticmodalities for OB/GYN malignancies (biopsies and colposcopy), as well as provide primarypreventive care and education for women seen in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic. Incumbentshould be able to evaluate both functional and dysfunctional problems related to the female pelvisto include masses, pain, urological complaints, bleeding abnormalities, hormonal dysfunction, andinfections. Incumbent must be able to evaluate emergency obstetrical problems and subsequentlytreat or appropriately refer the same.


 Perform highly responsible duties in the advanced examination and treatment of patients referred for consultation. Based on professional ability conducts thorough evaluations of patients presentingmedical management problems. Evaluates both laboratory and clinical findings and providesappropriate treatment and follow-up care for patients. Must be able to collaborate with specialists inother areas on interrelated problem. Admits an discharges patients as required. Works in Labor anddelivery for the delivery of infants. Will be required to handle emergencies and perform on-call duties.

 

Participates in the medical education training program within the department. Guides, instructs,and trains residents, interns, medical students, and other professional personnel as required inambulatory OB-GYN care. Lectures to department personnel on aspects of ambulatory OB-GYN carewhen requested.

Attends departmental and service specific conferences and lectures. Maintains current knowledgeof obstetrics and gynecology through annual continuing medical education.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required

 

Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology

 

Candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
