This position is located at Branch Health Clinic Port Hueneme, California.

 

 

Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton > Clinics

 

 

Branch Health Clinic Port Hueneme is a tenant command of Naval Base Ventura County. Facilities located on Naval Base Port Hueneme include the Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, Industrial Hygiene, and Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program. Naval Base Point Mugu has a co-located medical and dental clinic. In addition, there is a Branch Medical Annex on San Nicolas Island. 

 

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Duties

  • Serve as a Clinical Psychologist Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) for the Clinic and Behavioral Health System of Care (BHSOC) Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) program.
  • Provide individual and group treatment, using various modalities as clinically indicated to include brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes.
  • Assess acute mental health and behavioral medicine conditions in beneficiaries who present with such issues.
  • Conduct mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required.
  • Assess and provide intervention for individuals with a wide range of chronic medical conditions, and behavioral health issues affecting medical conditions to include assessment and disposition of beneficiaries with acute and chronic risk.
  • Provide treatment through targeted and efficient appointments for initial and follow-up visits.

Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist:

Degree:
 Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. (Please upload a copy)

Selective Placement Factor Licensure: This position requires a current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction. (Please upload a copy)

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements below:

Specialized Experience:
 In order to qualify, your resume must demonstrate that you possess at least one year of specialized experience, which includes conducting psychological evaluations, developing behavioral health treatment plans, and providing psychological counseling services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Education

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
